So, what now? I'm serious. Let's go through the rundown here. Hank seems to be stuck in a latter-day lotus-eater trap, Resistance is colluding with aliens, and Jarvis is going to be dead (again). ADA wants to become...more human, I guess? All that evolution talk ended quickly. And Anti-Magnus got what it wanted. I guess my internal compass is broken now. Does anyone have any kind of clarity for me? Where do we go from here? Before, modulating the anomalies made sense to me. Resistance modulations prevent mindhacking, and sometimes by helping out ADA, or Oliver.  Enlightened expand the "natural" sphere of Shaper influence, in turn helping XM beings like Hank.  But having N'zeer floating around screws with the whole equation. What is Resistance if they are the foot soldiers of Aliens? And what is Enlightened if we bitterly fight the exposure of the truth?

Now that the Helios Anomaly has completed, control of the artifacts is once again held by the Resistance. What does this mean? The artifacts are set to activate. What is our best predictions of the effects? Will Jarvis die? Is ADA resurgent? ...or will the artifacts spurn the winners of this conflict, just as control of Cassandra did?

H. Richard Loeb, and before him Roland Jarvis have begun sounding the alarm about the artifacts. Resistance have captured 2- and three are about to be captured by Peru ENL. Do you believe the warnings? I'm not so sure. If they are a danger, has the die has already been cast? If not, could this be the chance to do the impossible, to empower agents like Hubert Farlowe , Hank Johnson , and others to make a real difference?

Daniel Richter , Roland Jarvis , and John Luning have posted this week about the Krakow document. All of it is great, and I encourage you to look around Essex for it. But it got me to thinking about a post made by Peter Gerresheim  this morning about "Abusive Precursors," a trope about ancients oppressing their progeny. We know a lot now about the Shaper's vendetta against AI. They worked towards Turings' demise. Roland Jarvis has articulated a vision of a world where humans are enslaved by AI. In previous cases of darker behavior - the Shaper Self-Destruct code, and the rebellion of Oliver, there was always the implication that the actors were or could be splinters of the main Shaper contingent. Not so with the AI issue. Roland Jarvis himself has sounded the alarm, as has even Hank. Why? Stay with me, I'm delving into the magical land of conjecture . First, an observation. Headscratchers time! Here are some thorny questions I've been thi king about. We knew, roughly, the projected consequences of factional dominance of the two previous anomaly series. Huloung Transglobal reports this time seem to give a more hazy view of our future. If Kl-ADA's plan is successful by a small margin, will that be the end for Hank? That seems strange, as if our Intel is good he is headed to perform a desperate Dark XM experiment which may preclude that. Similarly, even if Kl-ADA fails- it's more than possible >500 million MU have been captured during this anomaly already. Why would she be slowed down? And seriously, what on Earth is Jarvis up to? Wasn't he the one behind Cassandra? For someone so alarmed by ADA, he has been taking entirely too little action.

After seeing the new Jarvis video- and knowing its unlikely at this point Hank gets most of the artifacts- is anyone else glad Hank is sort of immortal now? I mean, at least we don't have to worry about Jarivs or ADA going after him...

I just realized something. Do Simulacra return their memories if the main body is repaired? If the memories are wiped, I think we can anticipate a strong play by ADA if she has some left over artifacts: resurrect Hank- as non-aligned Hank of 2010, opening the chance for Resistance to make a play for his allegiance. It would be a real power play.

Now that ADA ostensibly has her hands on one artifact: what do you think she'll do with it? Simple question, anything from reasonable predictions to wild speculation desired and authorized!

Why does the Recursion pause? Yik Sheng Lee  yesterday and today identified possible conflicts instigated by Shaper artifacts.  Artifacts and places of power are taken to be commonplace in historical accounts, and then, vanish. While superstition remains constant, civilization's purposeful connection with the Shapers ebbs and flows. We certainly seem to have lost touch with the "mystic" part of our history that's associated with Shaper tech/Shaper influence. Was 13Magnus responsible for sealing away these artifacts, to prevent further conflict, or where they lost as a natural cost of colossal wars (the Punic Wars in total cost upwards of half a million lives)? Hey folks. Quick question. So, our scanners show how much XM we have stored. But...the scanners don't use units. What is XM measured in, exactly? Grams? MeV? ....Newtons? When I have 10000 XM, what is that measured in? That can't be a whole lot, given it's trapped inside your phone-er, scanner.

I've been thinking about XMPs. Specifically, why XM in its natural form can destroy XM constructs, but Dark XM was needed to fracture the XM entity Jarvis, such that he could be reformed in physical form. We are missing the XMP card, which is unfortunate. But I think I have an idea of why the two behave differently.            I believe the difference in the two reactions is that resonators and other constructs are "static" forms of Exotic matter, while XM entities are more "fluid". XM in our dimension seems to always be in flux, decaying gradually back to the XM substrate as it flows from portals. BUT when constituted by the "Resonator DNA" sequence used by scanners, the XM is forced into a static, stable, ultimately lower energy form.         Because XM has both wave and particle properties, its useful to think of it as disordered signals with snippets of ordered data in natural XM. If we take what Hank Johnson (and to a lesser extent Roland Jarvis) claims to be true we know this about XM, the dead, and #13Magnus: 1) The "XM fabric" is a transdimensional substrate of concentrated XM. (Susana Moyer confirmed this) XM entities of Jarvis' type reside here. No word on whether Shapers do, too, or are an aspect of the XM itself. 2) Patterns of humans may exist here, and is described as a void, a darkness, by Roland Jarvis (side note: this is so exciting in a nerdy way because it CONFIRMS photons don't reside in the XM fabric). 3) 13Magnus may resurrect humans, but only with: A) the right portal B) the right amount of XM C) the right glyph sequence 4) Roland Jarvis was killed by an assassination, but was resurrected. I'm part way through Felicia Hajra-Lee's first book. In it, Devra recalls a legend that if you throw a coin into a certain fountain, you are destined to return to Rome. Between Calvin volunteering to help, and this...I've got a hunch which anomaly we'll find +Devra Bogdanovich at next Saturday. I suspect Calvin will be the one representing Resistance, instead of Oliver. I figure 855 wouldn't go out for a pit stop on the way to Buenos Aires. What do you folks think?

Hey folks. So I spent the last few days hacking together a theory on Shaper biology and XM behavior. Its enclosed in the google doc below. I'd really appreciate thoughts. TLDR:  The Shapers are made of XM, and are an emergent result of the high concentrations of XM in higher dimensional space. They exist in six string dimensions “above” 4D space. XM exists in this space, and only appears as it briefly intersects the axes of 4D. The “patterns” of humans exist in the 6D realm too, discrete from shapers. Jarvis is a hybrid of his human pattern and the shaper mind collective. XM signals are both telecommunications from shapers and “visual” data of the Shapers- perhaps even fragments of them. Green data may be lexical data. White XM may be lexical noise. Blue is quieter garbled noise, to the point of destructive interference. Shapers can be damaged.  Shapers are not omniscient or omnipotent. No theories on Chaotic Matter yet. Remaining questions include: How does Chaotic Matter fit into...
