Just some thoughts I originally posted as a comment to Gavin Treadgold's posts about the possibility of Easter Island artifact. Thinking on this, I realized the location fits in with a lot of the discussions I have seen in hangouts and here in g+ recently: so perhaps considering this will add value to other research on other historical zones, figures and events. Easter Island makes sense for many reasons; given the history and theories as to why the prosperous thriving island culture wiped itself out so quick (prevailing theories are that they drained the environment in, amongst other things, a tribal war to build and prominently place the biggest head to mark a tribes 'mana' or importance... cutting down the lush forests of the time to use as rollers for moving and placing them.)
