Kalash of Cultures - Pakistan: http://youtu.be/qEXnEfdvv6s The argument: 1. Watch the video; this Dardic mountain tribe plays polo. They fiercely fought for their independence through the ages, till the British arrived; at which point they adopted some British customs like playing polo on weekends (although they claim they invented the game first). 2. The Kalasha have lived in geographic isolation for so long that their DNA has diverged. But, there are markers to suggest that they come from around the Mediterranean(that is, that they are Dardic). There are 2 theories as to how they got there: a. They were travellers along the silk route who decided to settle in a scenic location and sell spices, apricots and cherries (the latter two do not grow in the subcontinent, only in the Mediterranean; and with no contact with the outside world for centuries, there's no other way they could've gotten these fruits) b. I don't think it's as simple as that. What happens if his body is damaged or destroyed?
ReplyDeleteDo we know where the body is? I thought it was IN the nest, which would basically kibosh any attempts to damage it.
ReplyDeleteTheoretically the body is still in the nest.… Maybe. When we asked Hank about it in Austin he said that it was safe.
ReplyDeleteJust because it is safe now, doesn't mean that it will always be so. Also the idea of having to reset every time you die and or every five'ish years, whichever comes first. Is very… Inconvenient at best. And pretty horrible when you stop and think about it.
Yeah, but don't worry: the artifacts are Shaper tech. Think about that. With sufficient study, anything can be reverse engineered....and Hank has all the time in the world. I do hope that Hank isn't being influenced by Jarvis, but he never struck me as someone who can fall prey to that sort of stuff. He's former PsyOps, that probably means he has strong mental barriers, especially if the cycle takes him back 2010 in memories each time. I mean, that's my assumption. If he becomes Tabula Rasa, that would be another story, but the writer of the Greek message made it seem as though he maintained some level of memory- literacy, and such. Procedural memories, such that the subject doesn't revert to infancy.
ReplyDeleteThink Dorian Gray, here.
