Okay so after reading the official statements by ADA and Hank I switched over to Facebook to not think about Ingress for a while and came upon a post in a group a friend of mine founded called "The Muse".  Which is a place for inspirational "pay it forward"/"random acts of kindness" stuff. And it was a quote by Pres. Kennedy about how the Chinese symbol for "crisis" is made up of two brush strokes that represent "danger" and "opportunity" in that order when you write it. So of course that got me thinking about glyphs. Good job Facebook... Anyway. There's an element of our research into Glyphs that might have been lacking and... I believe it was Melissa L. that pointed it out recently with a link to a video of Carrie Campbell meeting with PAC. That being the Glyphs have a sonic element which may be critical to making them have an impact... Unfortunately, the only ones who seem to understand this element would be Carrie hers...

So we've finally wrapped up the booth I was coordinating, I got to see Melissa L. again today briefly as we were contemplating breakdown and was a little distracted.  I had meant to suggest that we meet up before she heads home to compare notes before posting some of the information we got from our conversations with Hank Johnson and Susanna Moyer at the post anomaly party...  But I've got all these thoughts buzzing around in my head and I can't sleep until I get them out.  I also want to make sure that I not only get it down while it's reasonably fresh, but that it gets out soon enough to hopefully be useful. If Melissa (or Hank or Susanna should they happen to see this) have additions/corrections, I will amend this post with notation. I know, I keep posting... Who is coming to Austin for the Anomaly?  When are people getting in? Do we want to do an Essex meetup pre-anomaly?  (As in the day before.)  Post-anomaly? (At the after party or the day after?)  The morning of and during we will likely all be busy with (feh) faction stuff.  Let me know and I will scout places for us to have a meetup. Should we see if we can get some face time with Susanna Moyer and Hank Johnson ?  (Maybe we can pester Joe Philley and/or flint dille as well?)  We could video it and post it somewhere. Thoughts?  Questions?  Answers?

A message from Misty Hannah, or rather from somebody through Misty. I find it interesting in light of Edgar Allan Wright's musings of if he is in a zero sum game. The idea that, for each new thing he learns, he will forget two things. Implying a shrinking pool of understanding. While Misty's poem states that for each known thing there are two things waiting to be discovered. I think there might be a more literal meaning to this than just representing the potential to expand understanding exponentially. But the sentiment is still there. What do you think this poem means? Is ADA a Furby? I've been mulling this over since we last had a discussion in the Hangout about ADA.  In light of the document recently shared over at Niantic Project , I should probably just spit it out already. I had thought it was likely that she was given access to information and then learned to control things organically as it became "necessary" to assist with the project. Now I'm starting to think she is more like a Furby. There was something about a link that was shared in the hangout discussion that didn't quite sit right with me. (I will update the post when I find the link to the document) In this discussion where ADA is introduced to Calvin, she finishes the conversation with a statement like, "The information in my data banks indicate I should express the emotion of excitement". Let me explain the Furby connection. You all remember Furby's, they tried to make a comeback recently.  It was supposed to be that you would teach them things.  ...

While adding some items to the google doc collecting symbols of eternity/immortality/death&rebirth, I remembered something that's kind of funny. So there's a story about Heracles going into the underworld to rescue his dead love and bring her back to the land of the living. Building upon that story is a Greek comedy about Dionysus being drunk at the house of a friend.  The friend is very sad and Dionysus asks him why.  The friend explains that his wife has died, and he's grieving.  (Making the wife quite possibly the original woman in a refrigerator.) This will not stand, so the demi-god disguises himself  as Heracles and goes down into the underworld to rescue his friend's dead wife.  Many hilarious indignities happen to Dionysus over the course of the story.  I really should find my copy of it. The name of this play? The Frogs.
