Theories on the current Global XM Drought Not long after the Obsidian anomaly came to a close agents began reporting an absence of XM clouds at portals. Since the Acolyte had possession of the arrowheads from Harlan's Box and the Enlightened faction controlled the anomaly's frequency affinity most theorists attribute the XMWeather phenomenon to her activating the Obsidian Shield. I'd like to propose we consider possible mechanisms for the change. As a default position I'll state one simple theory. The Acolyte wanted to shut out N'Zeer influence and used the shield to do so.from that one might assume the XM clouds were created by the N'Zeer and they can no longer do so. Another possibility would be that the clouds were created by shapers to dampen N'Zeer transmissions at portals and those jamming signals are no longer necessary, freeing up the shapers to focus on some other goal. After getting eye of this code for the first time through the Isthmus HO Street Team, together with agent @manriver we decided to crack it down. When did Ken Owen develop his Hide in Plain Sight strategy and who was he able to silence before? I'm beginning to wonder if there was a whole investigation similar in scope to H. Richard Loeb's Niantic Project that was shut down by the NIA before most of us learned about XM. It occurs to me that we have an opportunity to test some theories about both simulacra and portal entanglement.  There are several sites where we have good reason to believe quantum entanglement between researchers and portals might have been established after their induction to the Niantic Project team.  Any connection Oliver Lynton-Wolfe might have established to Buenos Aires or Wunsdorf, for instance, would have been made after his initial conversion. If we can measure the ongoing extent of that entanglement it might help establish a framework for understanding how a person embodied as a simulacrum relates to the "pure human" biological entity from which the original pattern is generated.  If the entanglement was transferred across the recursion event then we can assume there is a continuity between them despite the loss of memory.  If, on the other hand, recursion disentangles portals from those who have engaged with them then we might make a case that the simulacra gener...

So, if Calvin knew the sensitives were all embodied as simulacra throughout the Niantic project, may have been responsible for converting some or all of them, then who was in his control group? Surely if he was looking to study the sensitives then there would have been a group of original recipe human beings subjected to the same experimental conditions, right? Who is not under the dome but still got the same XM exposure, mental stimulation, and detailed evaluation? or was that a blind spot Calvin completely overlooked in chasing his own 13magnus? (and of course the ongoing side question - was Calvin in the group on purpose or did he wind up recursive as the result of some accident?)

I've been thinking about the human glyph triad, that body, mind, and spirit combine to form human, and how that might relate to phenomena we've seen since the XM investigation began. A Simulacrum can be said to be a prosthetic body generated by the 13Magnus ritual (or by some ongoing mechanism that is initiated by that ritual) to house the spirit and mind of a Recursive Immortal.  ADA's memetic implant appeared to replace Klue's identity and motives, her spirit, within her body and with access to her memories (mind).   We have seen several cases of mind to mind interaction, most notably Misty Hannah's reading - a feat that Omnivore may have managed to duplicate.  In once case (Hank's breadcrumbs to span the 1331 day recursion) a mind appears to have been reassembled after being reset to an earlier state.  In another (Dr Wright himself) the mind appears to have been fractured.
