Very troubled days on all fronts, Agents.

Very troubled days on all fronts, Agents. The Prime Scanner was released - probably an information leak, since as a weapon for Agents on the ground it turned out to be somewhat ... ineffective; a little short of what the boastful Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe had promised. Many of the Agents have returned back to the old Scanner, or [REDACTED], for fear of losing any tactical advantage over the opponent.

The fact that the application store was packed with war supplies - rather than the utilities of the old Scanner - somewhat corroborates the will expressed by Lynton-Wolfe during the Cassandra Anomaly: to become financially independent of the NIA. However, the complaints by the Agents led the NIA to act and limit the sale of arms, thus undermining the Engineer's plans.

The biggest introduced innovation is the possibility of Recursion. By accepting it, the Agent becomes a Simulacrum: all memories will be lost despite keeping the personal achievements visible in the profile. The Prime Scanner has the ability to record that moment in time, like a snapshot of the Agent's career, only to begin again from scratch. It remains to be known what happens 1331 days after that button being pressed.
So if you are a Level 16 Agent and you are thinking about clicking the "Recurse" button, you must be aware that you are doing so at your own risk and it is an irreversible decision with implications not yet known.

These are indeed troubled times, Agents. Stay tuned, because the World is not what it seems. Not even the Universe.
