About Emerald Table
The Emerald Table ("Tabula Smaragdina" in latin) is a sapiential text that according to legend would have been found in Egypt before the Christian era.

The text was engraved on an emerald slab (that's why its name) and was translated from Arabic to Latin in 1250. It represents the most famous document of hermetic writings and is attributed to Hermes Trismegisto

It appeared for the first time in printed version in De Alchemia by Johannes Patricius (1541).

Tradition wants Ermete to engrave the words of the Table on a green emerald slab with the tip of a diamond, and Sarah, Abraham's wife, later found it in Ermete's tomb (other versions indicate as a discoverer Alexander the Great, that, for Ingress scholarship, lead a 13Magnus - or more than one at the same time - himself).

About the Content - latin version
Sic habebis gloriam totius mundi. Ideo fugiat a te omnis obscuritas. Hic est totius fortitudinis fortitudo fortis; quia vincet omnem rem subtilem, omnemque solidam penetrabit. Sic mundus creatus est. Hinc erunt adaptationes mirabiles, quarum modus hic est. Itaque vocatus sum Hermes Trismegistus, habens tres partes philosophiæ totius mundi. Completum est quod dixi de operatione solis. »

English translation
"It is true without a lie, certainly and truly,
That what's down is like what's up and what's up is like what's down to doing miracles of just one thing. And since all things are and come from one, through the mediation of one, then all things have come from this unique thing through adaptation. The sun is his father, the moon is his mother, the wind has brought him into his lap, the earth is his nurse. The father of everything, the end of the whole world is here. Its strength or power is whole if it is converted to earth. You will separate the Earth from the Fire, the slender from it often gently and with great genius. He exalts from Earth to Heaven and again descends on Earth and receives the strength of the upper and lower things. With this means you will have the glory of the whole world and by that means darkness will flee from you. This is the strong fortress of all strength: because it will win every subtle thing and will penetrate every solid thing. So the world was created. This will result in wonderful adaptations, the method of which is here. That is why I was called Hermes Trismegisto, having the three parts of philosophy all over the world. That's what I said about the Sun's operation. "

About Ermete, the TriMeghistos (Ἑρμῆς ὁ Τρισμέγιστος, Mercurius ter Maximus, Ermete Trismegisto)
and 'bout his works, the Corpus Hermeticum

As a whole, "hermetic literature" is a category of papyrus containing spells and initiation procedures.
In the Asclepius (Greek god of health) dialogue is described, for example, the art of Telestiké, that is to invoke or imprison angels or demons inside statues, with the help of herbs, gems and perfumes; Methods are also described to make these figures speak and prophesy. If i can remember properly Essex theories, there was something similar that we had already met.
Animated idols talking to Cybella and prophesying the future.

In other papers there are formulas for building artifacts and animating them.
Reflecting on the simulacri and their activation and recursion seems to me too easy.

  1. The rod of Asclepius has only one snake. The staff with two snakes (as well as wings and a orb) is the Cadusius, symbol of Hermes and has nothing to do with health. Common mistake first initiated by the US armed forces that picked the wrong symbol for their medical branch.

  2. Daeniem Loidlan Wow! you have better intels than me. I just have been learning and practicing the meaning of the text in order to unfold my life to be rich. Also to be the hero of my own lifestory. I'm sure that "As above so below, as within so without." is the key. nothing comes from without, all things come from within.

  3. Gustav Andersson aye dude. perfectly right.
    Modding on the mistake. Thanks!

Ahimsa 4w0R1d The quotation you propose is one of the most studied and investigated by ancient and modern alchemy.
If we were to literally apply the new scientific discoveries to this relationship between mycosis and macrocosm, we could hardly say that the ancients were wrong.

We are giving, in the course of contemporary history, scientific credit to statements that perceived the truth behind it and could only place it in the canons of magic.

AtLaZ TD It all depends on the time zone, dude. ;P
