*Is Abaddon to be feared?* My argument is no. I'm interested in knowing the origin of the cited scripture. Or is it scripture? It looks like it may be another person's version of the scripture which comes across as... It feels evil and foreboding. I have 2 sources that paint a different picture. In biblical text the apostle John translated the Hebrew word Abaddon to Greek which is Apollyon. Apollyon means “Destroyer,” and is given as the name of “the angel of the abyss.” Though most reference works apply this name to some evil person or entity, the whole setting of the apocalyptic vision in Revelation is to the contrary. It consistently portrays angels being used by God to bring woe and destruction upon His enemies. Not the devil or his demons. Destruction is not always evil. The Interpreter’s Bible says: “Abaddon, however, is an angel not of Satan but of God, performing his work of destruction at God’s bidding.” It wasn't until the 19th century that the 'angel of the a...

ReplyDeleteWhose got two thumbs and wants in on the rpg?? This guy!!
ReplyDeleteInterested!!!
ReplyDeleteI will say the people who ran the RPG said they'd love to see more games being made by players!
ReplyDelete[shaking bag of dice]
ReplyDeleteReady!
Of course!! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteand now we have the sourcebook drive.google.com - FINAL--Sourcebook.pdf - Google Drive
ReplyDeleteAlright - I am going to set up a Storium game as a start and then see what else might come up - if anyone is starting anything - let me know!
ReplyDeleteSo I am going to create a Storium Game to run using the sourcebook and Ingress info - I am thinking this is the tagline - They didn't know who they were, who they really were. Each an Archetype, one of 13 needed to form a MAGNUS. They will start strangers, but by the end of the journey they will be united... or dead.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a short adventure of a group coming together not knowing what an Archetype is or that they are one and ending up... well, whereever the game and players take it - yeah it does sound a little familiar... :P but hey... plus Storium is a platform where there may be players who do not know about Ingress... a fun mix
thoughts?
JoJo Stratton I think we should wait until they release the rules that they used in Navarro so that we can get a real game going.
ReplyDeleteJoJo Stratton Love the idea. I'd love an invite even more. ;)
ReplyDeleteKosh TheRipper definitely want to play a full on rpg with the full game mechanics. Storium mixes writing and game mechanics so it can work with just the sourcebook
ReplyDeleteI'm interested.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually thinking that an Ingress RPG could run well on Savage Worlds with few adjustments. I just need to see every character sheet so I could see how the archetypes are stated and their xm based special abilities. I think, if anything, some balancing would be needed to the alignment stats for a port to work, but alot of the abilities I saw could work as magic trappings.
(Who knows, maybe I will create #campStoryTeller next year. :D)
