I'm sharing with you my speculations about the current alignment of the Niantic investigators... I'm not sure of many (specially Schubert, Hannah, Kureze, and Dalby) but I did what I could. I took into account their "original" alignment, then their alignment after they "woke up" after Abaddon and their actions from that moment on... People closer to the "white" segment are the ones that I considered to be more neutral and/or more prompt to change factions.

ReplyDeleteWhat I wonder, not to question the validity of your analysis, but, wanting to explore adding a "time" factor to your search, is how important it is and has been for "arrays" of researchers their "capture "by factions within the anomalys.
What I wonder is if they, themselves, do not have the ability to change their own attitude towards the factions and their ideology.
I think, for example, to Roland Jarvis and the Acolyte
They are both defined as "leaders" of the enlightened, but I'm pretty sure that, if they were both pigeonholed within the organization permanently, the whole faction would soon suffer a clear division.
It does not seem to have characters that enable them to work together.
The Acolyte did not become known as a person able to share power, and certainly Jarvis would not or could leave his role as prophet.
Speaking of OLW, and with reference to H. Richard Loeb post about the new sense of being "sensitive" and all the published documentation on its first researchs, I must say that I am tempted to place it in an area of "pure neutrality".
Oliver Lynton-Wolfe plays only for himself, if he uses the others, which are or are not his colleagues (I see difficult thing define someone OLW's friend) does to get something for him.
I think OWL havent really a faction, but I think easily steps from one to other, as would a pendulum.
I did take into account the fact that time has passed and they might changed. Take enoch dalby for example, he was risen as a Resistance-aligned simulacrum after the RES got his shards, but he has always seem to tend to the ENL side... so that's why I put him in the more neutral spectrum now, as being unnaturally bound to the RES and moving back towards his more original or independent (if you like) way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteSame I though of Misty Hannah, she has been both factions, but she usually remains neutral in her actions. So I believe she may be claimed by one faction or the other but eventually she'll end up being more neutral than anything else.
I didnt' want to get into the division within the Enlightenment and The Resistance precisely because the idea was to make a very simple chart to put the #Magnus:Reawakens choice in perspective. There are many sub-divisions within both factions, and yes, some characters are irreconciliable. Hank Johnson is a devoted believer of the Enlightment as a concept, but he seems to work a lot better with some RES operatives from time to time... But, due to his convictions regarding the XM and the Shapers, I placed him as being very clearly ENL anyway.
That's why I placed Oliver Lynton-Wolfe so close to the "neutral" part of the Chart. Because he has "declared" himself ENL but I do believe he plays for himself at the end.
I love this! However I feel Enoch is more Enlightened while Yuri is more grey...

I took into account that Enoch was made RES after abaddon, but my original chart (before I remembered that) placed him closer to the green part of the spectrum. Yuri was complicated to me to tell the truth... I was not sure whether to make him more neutral or not. His experiences with the Anaztec make him seem very ENL-minded to me. But again, I may be wrong.

ReplyDeleteNice job!! I'll place Enoch more enlightment aligned too, at the end of the day he is a high level sensitive, its hard for him being against xm when he enjoyed so much. But I agree pretty much with everything else on your chart.
ReplyDeleteDespite its aligment, I feel like Calvin should be ostracized.
I'd like to see a latino character soon, let's hope one of these archetypes drops is replazed with one of us.

ReplyDeleteJoJo Stratton I'm more like trying to reflect her disagreements with the whole XM issue. But I placed her in the resistance nonetheless. It was a difficult call. I see her as RES but I felt bad placing her more aligned mainly because of the N'zeers. My heart wanted to place her more into the blue spectrum, but I toss my heart aside
ReplyDeleteJuan Pedro Peralta Yes. As I said before to TrIsten Bordagaray. I had originally placed Enoch in the green spectrum until I remember Abaddon and he had been quite silent since. So I could only speculate his moving back to the green spectrum as a progression of his original thread of thought but felt it too risky to place him back into the ENL without further evidence.

ReplyDeleteIf Kureze was in fact Kurter Zokiev back during the #ShaperData transmission then I'd put him pretty safely into the green spectrum based on those documents. His glyph experimentation on Jarvis' body when the CERN facility was being locked down back when the primary differentiator between ENL and RES was whether to study or eschew all XM exposure would add weight to that assessment.
