I have been trying to figure our if there is a single glyph that could represent each Archetype. I have reached out to a few others and we have agreed on 8 leaving 5 undecided. I welcome any and all feedback on this project. I am willing to acknowledge that even the 8 could be changed. #MagnusReawakens

Task that the alchemist arises is to improve himself, purifying and adjusting the corruptible matter composing it, on the outside, as well as within, below, as well as above.
In this perspective, the two glyphs to choose should be "evolution" or, to a lesser extent, "enlightenment"
.Spiritualist
Being related to the spirit world make it suitable intimately find answers to questions that, through reason and logic, are not so easy to discover.
Most suitable glyphs, according with this view, I think it is "answer" or "seen".
Simpler and more immediate is the idea of using the glyph "soul".
.Listener
If we consider this archetype's ability to focus, through listening, about what surrounds him and draw on the knowledge and creativity, and produce - as in the case of enoch dalby - a return of knowledge through the use of music - or at least a means capable of stirring emotions and transmit knowledge in a less traditional way that learning didactically - then the glyph more is the one of "harmony"
.Visionary
The archetype sense is not limited to see, but to be able to perceive something to say beyond the immediate, of this.
"Outside" is the glyph that best suited to represent him.
"Pursue" also would be valid choice even if adds to that idea the propensity to see beyond, outside, AND even to want, to aspire to get there.
Interesting suggestions Daeniem Loidlan. We had considered Soul for the Spiritualist, but Answer would also work given that people seek knowledge of the spiritualist and that is usually an answer to some fundamental question they have.

ReplyDeleteThink of the spiritualist as something related only to the basic concept of "spirit" is an understatement, I think.
It is certainly the most simple proposal, but did not fully identify the archetype as a whole.
Mmmm.
Perhaps we could expand this research effort by matching pairs of glyphs to every archetype, in order to have more powers in every aspect.
What do you think?
Curiously, I was working on this question as well, as part of one of my projects, this is my own guess, even when I like your glyph for Martin more.
ReplyDeleteI think that Knowledge fit Oliver better that ADA, as he is defined by it search. ADA just is everywhere at the same time, and because of that, she got a lot of information.
For Carrie, I choose message as well and I thougth that i would be fitting that his partner would have Signal, that is also related to the message but normally used on sounds too

I agree with all of Daeniem Loidlans post with the exception of Alchemist. One who can produce gold from lead. Arcana thats a blend of 'science' and 'magic' but generally always results in the Creation of something... and so I personally would choose Create for the Alchemist.
