ok - collecting some research - en.wikipedia.org - Redwood Empire Council - Wikipedia has an overview of the camp - an interesting bit from that is during the Depression the Camp was used as a Civilian Conservation Corps site - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_Conservation_Corps

There is the mention of 55 Navarro Salute" cannon once stood
and that a damn was often built to make a swimming area and that a gravel dam building was used until 2001
1955 it was bought by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masonite_International
