so, general question... we know that ADA passed the "turing test", we also have many studies showing how the turing test can actually be gamed by very complex programming and in fact you can write programs to create the allusion of AI for many (the chinese room thought experiment). At what point are we certain that she began acting on her own and has not been following a program and orders by someone else. Are we certain that those orders that she delivered for Jarvis and others and even the Katalena pre Zurich encounters, were not done on the orders of some programming. NOt to call ADA a gun, but how certain are we she is not? How can we prove, beyond doubt, that she is truly a separate entity working on her own and not some other programming? I would like to call for the evidence and proof that ADA is a complete entity. That she is not following someone else's computer orders, that she has a consciousness (or not). http://niantic.schlarp.com/_media/investigation:cha...
Is there a Portal called "circle of obsidius"? I can't find anything for obsidius (except in World of Warcraft).

ReplyDeleteWe're trying to decode it in a telegram group: https://telegram.me/joinchat/BHuK9QSHqy7YIK_QDenWaw
ReplyDeleteThis is what I get on Intel, searching for Circle of Obsidius

Obsidian is volcanic glass. Pliny the elder died at Vesuvius. Could we be looking at a nest beneath a volcano, with the ring referring to the caldera?
ReplyDeleteThe primitive tools in the background also imply obsidian (and volcanic origins). Are there any places in Italy where obsidian (rather than stone) was worked into primitive tools?
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteDavid Timothy they also looks like GORUCK logo
ReplyDeleteDavid Timothy obsidian is very common in Sicily, especially in Lipari and Stromboli, due to the Vulcan
ReplyDeleteAs Franco La Cioppa said:
ReplyDeleteObsidius could be this guy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidius
Whose people founded Lanciano -> same city that Intel sends you to when searching for circle of obsidius.
That makes 2 hints.

Our hero Franco La Cioppa will go to Lanciano asap :-)
ReplyDeleteAccording to the history books, Obsidius was a roman who discovered a mysterious black stone in Aethiopia. Later the black volcanic mineral we know as "obsidian" was named after him. At least Pliny says so...
ReplyDelete( Plinius historia naturalis Lib. 27 c. 6.)
So what may this mysterious black stone might have been, the Roman brought from africa? And if "Circle of Obsidius" refers to him - who or where could that be?
For many centuries obsidian has been used by crystals gazers and shamans to make contact with the spirit world. It is said to stimulate the gift of prophecy.
If I find out more, I'll let you know...
P.S. there are different translations to Obsius/Obisius/Obsidius...
Yik Sheng Lee there is a media icon near the nose, in the pic. The leaf could show the streets of Lanciano. There are three portals near the media icon..
ReplyDeleteYik Sheng Lee we are talking about that in the chat i posted one hour ago ;-)

Richard Jennings suggested the Circle of Obsidius may be another Nest, which fits with the idea of "awakening" it. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteOh...sure. Obsidian. I can't see the wood for the trees.
ReplyDeletehttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidius
ReplyDeleteHope I spelled the name right. Found that while digging.
Allen Tanner If the Circle is a group of people, then is the Acolyte supposed to awaken and warn them of something? If it's a group then my guess is that it's a 13MAGNUS group...
ReplyDeleteAllen Tanner Well, Jarvis, the Acolyte and the ENL believe the N'zeer is a threat. So in their eyes, it's one they must warn of.
ReplyDeleteTommaso Paris yes and in Sardinia too
ReplyDeleteIt took a bit time until I remembered where I'd seen these "Goruck-Symbols". The Maya used obsidian arrowheads and they quite look like same as the picture's Symbols: http://ancientmayantoolstransportation.weebly.com/
ReplyDeleteAllen Tanner That depends on if Calvin changes after leaving Geneva. Most notably, Roland Jarvis, The Acolyte and Hank Johnson are still determined to stop the N'zeer from coming back. So my guess is, unless someone stops them then this Circle of Obsidius will be reawakened and whatever happens from there will happen.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that it's Jarvis who wants it awakened, we could guess that leaving it unattended could yield a benefit towards the N'zeer. So awakening it could possibly be a hindrance to them.
Yik Sheng Lee could it pertain to the circle around obsidius mentioned in "Tempest"? seems they like using old references in many games... wish i could get ahold of one of my old decoder mates from another game...
ReplyDeleteDoes the fact that Jarvis' shards were captured by the Resistance factor in to anything? Or is that going to have no impact on Jarvis and his actions?
ReplyDeleteI would think the circle could be a summoning type place. Something liken to Stonehenge etc. Therefore with perhaps an Xm object one could awaken something or call them to return.
ReplyDeleteAllen Tanner the leaf is a location clue. My research leads me to believe it's a mayan jungle plant. Which so far I've traced some of this bread crumb to.
ReplyDeleteThe ruins of chichen itza, etc. More to come.
Any results from hacking portals in Lanciano
