We are currently working on gathering info to complete a massive timeline to give a linear view into the world of ingress.
The goals of this timeline are to help interest newer players into the story as well as the investigation. As well, the second goal of this is to provide investigators with a linear view of events in the story or actions along the way.
We are looking for everyone who would like to contribute to this. The world of ingress is massive.
To do this, we have created a form where anyone can submit events to the story line.
These events will be used in the future to populate all the timelines that are created. Events missed will be filled in by the timeline team.
This allows all of us together to work on the timeline and create something awesome like the investigation board.
As well, all new events can be easily added to the timeline as they happen with the form.

If you would like to add info to another entry and expand on it further, feel free to do so. We want to avoid duplicate posts if possible, but we would also like to glean the most amount of data possible to populate the timeline.

Researching this project has already given me reason to reevaluate some early leaks in light of newly uncovered facts. I think this is going to pay huge dividends as we flesh it out.

If we all work on this together, it will get done way quicker.
If you are looking over the video's and stuff, it would be a good opportunity to add them in to the timeline using the form.
Allen Tanner the Niantic Files serve to collect Intel leaks by release date. This is an attempt to reorganize events by when they happened. A maddeningly small number if drops are actually tied to a specific date of occurrence. Even the email headers have their dates stripped.

ReplyDeletePoint of this form is to take investigation data and put it into another form.
Without the data, we cannot make the timelines.
That data then will be organized based on who its about or what its about and put into the appropriate timelines, thus that is why all the fields are there.
Anything that is an ingress event period that isn't player driven.
ReplyDeleteyou can link in related articles to the main topic if it goes along with it.
ReplyDeleteAllen Tanner I'd say also if it was posted by one of the official NPCs or Niantic Project on G+ it's good to go in as well. Not everything made it into the books. Just have a source you can link back to. Take a look at what's already there if you get a chance. If you're ever unsure, run it by here to confirm it.

ReplyDeleteThe reader should be able to look at the timeline and be able to get an idea of the progression of the story and follow along.
Or jump into a character arc timeline and see the actions of that character over time.
