Thoughts on EAW panel of 11/24

Format was problematic. Unsure whether focus was on panel or host.

Questions went largely unaddressed.

Page lookup did not work well for live broadcast.

How I would improve:

Announce ahead of time what pages are of interest.

Take panelists from best questions as per EAW (not necessarily highest voted: we are looking for relevance to material)

Panelists discuss question for 1 minute each, EAW summarizes and gives thoughts after

Have moderator promote 5 questions at very end for EAW personally.

Have to board now will read later

  1. As one of the participants, I completely agree. I wasn't sure when we were supposed to discuss things... and in the end I threw my question out the window, ignored when he asked for page lookups, and went with the conversational flow as it was.

  3. In the end, the conversation did turn out to be interesting. I'm glad that EAW picked out some of the submitted questions to answer them. I came in late due to technical problems on my end so I didn't know if mine had been asked yet or not. The only real suggestion I would have is that for some of the more important Hangouts on Air I've done with larger groups, headphones were required of all participants. It cuts down on feedback problems almost entirely. Otherwise it's just too hard to make sure everyone has things set up right to not cause audio problems.

  4. I agree. Though, I think a free flow format could have worked, Dr Wright could have just said "And now a question for the agents viewing:..." Or something along those lines.

And a 10 min off air prep before hand could have helped. I was really lost as to when it was appropriate to talk.

  5. I was confused if we were supposed to answer with a question. But it seemed to be the only way to "answer".

  6. Agreed it was all over the place. Definitely need to work on the noise interference/reverberation when Agents were asking questions

  7. Edgar Allan Wright needs some headphones (if he hasn't done this before he wouldn't know that the mic can sometimes pick up audio from the speakers, causing some of the echo and feedback we experienced).

  8. agreed. It was a great experience, but guidelines as to what to expect would have made it perfect. I expected to be asking a single question, but it turned into a more open session.
