Dr Edgar Allan Wright has just stated on the hangout session he just conducted that researchers aligned with the Enlightened during Abaddon could return as humans, while the ones aligned with the Resistance would be simulacrum.
Does that add up? Simulacra are XM constructs. Since XM is tied together to the Shapers, I would assume it would be the other way around. What do you think is the basis for this?

This was definitely confusing; Hank Johnson was a simulacrum, created by a 13MAGNUS/Enlightened aligned ritual. So simulacrum doesn't automatically equal N'Zeer/Resistancr.

I'm not sure I understand it fully, since the 13Magnus are supposedly ENL and Hank was a simulacrum then recursed again as a simulacrum before finally becoming human again. What changed for him? Was is something to do with the reason that Roland Jarvis called their ritual corrupted? Are the 13Magnus not completely Enlightened?
ReplyDeleteI agree. Hank Johnson seems to be the key to a lot of questions about this. The XM pulse from the Shonin Stone caused such different effects on different people. It made Hank whole again, but it phased the researchers into the Portal Network, which are essentially opposite effects. AND it killed Azmati, though he was not Niantic to begin with, just 13 Magnus.

Good question, and perhaps he is the key... He was previously subject to a 13Magnus ritual. The others we guess underwent some AntiMagnus / nzeer ritual.
ReplyDeleteI think Azmati died because he was the one that destroyed the stone. Proximity to the blast? Not sure... Maybe he's not dead either. ("Dead" has certainly always had a very loose definition in the Niantic Project anyway. 😉)

It adds up perfectly. The Nzeer simulacrum method is imperfectly copied by 13Magnus, as a defense mechanism to create a class of individuals who can remain aware of the value of the portal network.
ReplyDeleteThe Niantic researchers are not members of a Magnus. They are pawns of the Magnus groups.
The Shapers are actively interested in human life remaining in the temporal realm but improving in such a way as to create better and more interesting patterns with greater degrees of cultural effect. Those who seek the Nzeer knowledge wish to strengthen humanity by removing its flaws. I still believe that the Nzeer are essentially uncaring and those who take their power do so as a pure act of will, in a desire to be superior.
The template is illustrated in Egyptian rites, with the soul being able to both animate a body and travel on its own. The two can progress together to the land of the dead.
I want to stress a few things: Magnus groups are seekers, but not in direct contact with their patrons until now.
Enlightened is not congruent with 13Magnus, nor is resistance with anti Magnus.
Perhaps as with other secret organizations, some pieces of information were with some cells and other pieces were with others. In this way, not all of the information could be revealed to the enemy if one cell was taken out.

Sarah Rosen 13Magnus simulacra have one foot in this world and one foot in the XM plane. I suspect a proper N'zeer simulacrum is fully engaged in this world with a strong link to the N'zeer substrate.. I also suspect they may not recurse on a schedule like Hank did.
