so, general question... we know that ADA passed the "turing test", we also have many studies showing how the turing test can actually be gamed by very complex programming and in fact you can write programs to create the allusion of AI for many (the chinese room thought experiment). At what point are we certain that she began acting on her own and has not been following a program and orders by someone else. Are we certain that those orders that she delivered for Jarvis and others and even the Katalena pre Zurich encounters, were not done on the orders of some programming. NOt to call ADA a gun, but how certain are we she is not? How can we prove, beyond doubt, that she is truly a separate entity working on her own and not some other programming? I would like to call for the evidence and proof that ADA is a complete entity. That she is not following someone else's computer orders, that she has a consciousness (or not). http://niantic.schlarp.com/_media/investigation:cha...
Someone has to die? No!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know, and I'm sure others do to, what your reasoning is for why someone should die during Abaddon. You make some interesting choices in your poll, but I'm curious why you picked these specific people.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the enlightened High Council anywhere on this list which is who I would vote for to die
ReplyDeleteJota C also - death is an odd concept in the Niantic world (simulacrum and others) - perhaps wording this in that aspect - also - could you add a no one will "change" to the poll - I can not vote in your poll as I would pick no one - so you are losing valuable comments and data - which being a post in Essex is something you have to account for as Essex is trying to gather data and use that to make potential connections between the official pieces that are found within the INgress world.
ReplyDeleterogue factor Let's keep this discussion to non-players please.
ReplyDeleterogue factor Drew Dondero yes - as I mentioned - Essex Community posts are about Niantic Project data gathering and making connections - repost things with your thoughts or make those comments in the main INgress community
ReplyDeleteThe acolyte cause let's face it.. That character went no where and time for a rewrite.. Maybe a shaper device/A I that controls enlightened leadership by use of glyph sequences
ReplyDeleteKlue has too awesome of an accent to vanish into oblivion. .
ReplyDeleteKlue is a player.
ReplyDeleteThe Council death not the people on the council come on Drew Dondero. Don't take things out of context
ReplyDeleterogue factor It's still not relevant to the discussion though. The Enlightened High Council has no bearing on any of the Niantic Investigation.
ReplyDeleteYes JoJo Stratton and Drew Dondero death is a different concept in the niantic world, while in ours it means, for most people, an end, in niantic most of the times it is a reborn.
ReplyDeleteSince Abaddon is a Hebraic term for destruction, I can not help to connect it with death, and also the name of an angel, and that brought to my mind pieces and faces, those you are seeing on the poll, but I really couldn't decide which of them fit in the Angel of Death role, so I asked you, not in a direct way, but in a way that will take this "Angel" to his path. Which do you think will have the bond to material life severed? Which is likely to become a new form of destruction? Don't forget that many data leads us to think that the N'Zeer welcome destruction as well, which funny by seeing that the most voted person now is Jahan.
Jota C so you are taking the interpretation of death as change, to cast off the legacy and be reborn as another roll?
ReplyDeleteJohn Maliniak not exactly, that's a possibility but I'm assuming that Abaddon brings destruction and so with it, death. Maybe in the next anomaly it will be reborn.
ReplyDeleteJota C or is it like number 13 in the Major Arcana, Not Death of a physical body but the end of a series of events. A casting back to a "dark age". In history how many times as civilization reset for no known reason?
ReplyDeleteWow this game is morbid sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more of The Acolyte. it's almost as if she was forgotten. who was she before Jarvis? Who is she now? TO see her die just because her story petered out would serve no purpose.
ReplyDeleteNone of the above.
ReplyDeleteyou should have included that explanation with the poll Jota C I like your comments :) and I do agree "death" (I have started using quotes more and more) is becoming a different concept in the Niancic world - look at Ilya and his wanting to "live" forever. I still want a none of the above as I am not sure what transformations may await
ReplyDeleteIN a way - I would say each of the sharded entities are "changing" potentially, so they could be the ones to fulfill walking on that new path you mention.
After Devra Bogdanovich was sharded and then the shard event happened, we did see her (if it is here, I still wonder) contact Hank (potentially) and Paul School and perhaps others - so even that could have been an interpretation of being "reborn" or on a different path???
Jota C I am still unclear - and perhaps a different discussion is needed on the relation of N'Zeer, Shapers and Destruction... it is good to bring that up....
ReplyDeleteWhere is Susanna Moyer ?? I haven't seen or heard from her recently. No posts for nearly a month now.
