Where is Corpses of Abaddon?

Where is Corpses of Abaddon?

SO, on Oct. 6th, 2015, Keisha W. successfully recovered a dead drop planted near the Robert E. Howard Museum near Cross Plains, TX.

The drop contained a document-a rejection letter to Howard from Farnsworth Wright, the editor of WEIRD Tales. The letter was in regards to a story Howard wanted published, to which Wright said that it was simply, "too far-fetched, even for us."

The story in question was entitled Corpses of Abaddon. It seems to be set 80 years in the future and discusses mysteries within the Niantic Project.

So...we have the rejection letter. But where is the manuscript?

As of right now, I've come up with 3 possibilities:

1. Could Howard have hidden or destroyed it?
Is it possible that Howard, taking the editor Wright's advice to heart and believing the story to be too outlandish for his time, hid the story away from prying eyes? Or is it that he simply chucked it into the trash, not believing in the quality of the work? If the first option is correct, then it could be that the novel is still hidden in Cross Plains, TX.

2. Could it be in someone else's hands?
Knowing that Howard had a connection with H.P Lovecraft, is it possible that
Howard passed it into his hands? If so, I'm not too sure where it'd be in that case.

3. Could a NIA-esque organization have destroyed the manuscript?
For this theory, I turn to the document released on June 12, 2013, entitled "Glyphs". The statement from H.P Lovecraft reads as follows(you may also read the photo attached in this album):

I hesitate to write this because I do not want to unnecessarily worry you, but shortly after my visit to the special collections area of the University library, I was visited by some men who were curious about my interest in such things. They claimed to be researchers, but they did not seem academic, at least not in the normal sense. These were hard men who appeared to be weighted down by an unseen burden. They had the sallow, haunted look...of men who have gazed too hard at things which should not be gazed at. They seemed to be well-versed in my work, yet they were definitely not typical WEIRD readers....If you choose to write about such matters in your fiction, be sure to disguise them. You don't want to draw the wrong kind of attention.

With this, I believe we have an organization similar to the NIA, attempting to obfuscate information about Exotic Matter(is it the actual NIA? Not sure.) If they somehow tracked Howard after writing the manuscript, then could they have obtained and destroyed it in order to guard the secrets it holds?

Regardless of these options, I wonder as to the manuscript's current location. It may be possible to believe that the manuscript could be in the Portal Network but I've got no way of being able to prove it is.

It may possibly fall on Agents to retrieve it if it can be found and on us Investigators to unravel what it holds. I believe we must find this manuscript, to discover what Howard was writing about the Niantic Project.

Hank Johnson. flint dille,  Dr. Edgar Allan Wright, Verity Seke and others: As always, I'd like to hear what you have to say.

In the name of the investigation, I provide this information. I can only hope it serves our journey well.

  1. HP Lovecraft's visitors would almost certainly have been agents of either 13 Magnus or Anti-Magnus.

  2. Did anybody ever figure out what glyphs were doodled at the bottom of the Glyphs letter?  I recognize "accept/open" and "idea", but the other two are difficult to place.  The one on the right looks like it might be "perspective".  The one on the left, I can't make sense of at all.  If you really stretch, you could maybe make it the standard form of Resistance, or perhaps Mystery, but neither of those is really a good match; I don't see anything that has the shape of a loop, with a larger spoke or loop coming out on the left and a smaller one on the right.

  3. They may have eventually been recruited by opposite sides.

  4. I do wish we could find this, or even pieces of this story...
