Hey guys, not entirely sure this is the right place to ask but can anyone enlighten me (no pun intended) on how the portal info for the Flash Shards was encoded and whether it's possible to decode upon release?

  2. Richard Jennings First find a method of encrypting the padded string in the results post from Ingress, there are several websites that will do this for you.  Then compare the hash result to what was listed in the original post from Ingress.  You can't decrypt but you can verify information as being the same that was encrypted.

  3. One thing that I'm having trouble with is the words with lines through them, maybe someone else can chime in as to why they don't encrypt the same.

  4. daniel faulkner  the barred string is only due to G+ formatting options a row of chars that starts and ends with an "-" will be barred in the posts like -barred- . the sam goes for chars with leading and trailing "*" they willl be displayed as bold

  5. so if you have a string like -abc123def456- , you only see 1 leading and 1 trailing "-" & you need at add a second "-" in front and after the string to get them to encode/decode properly
