Community Improvements and Suggestions

Community Improvements and Suggestions
It's hard to believe that Dr. Edgar Allan Wright first started this community in October 2013. Our enrollment has surged to 1,453 in July 2015.

In order to continue providing the best education from Dr. Wright and our individual study groups, I would like to invite you to leave your feedback and suggestions for community improvements in the comments below.

Thank you for being a valued investigator, and here's to many more great classes ahead!

  1. Additional mods would be good, as right now it's just you and JJ carrying the load, as Dr. Wright is... .somewhere.

    I'd suggest Mustafa Said .

  2. I sometimes wish we had a sticky that very plainly matter of fact and heavily abbreviated explained what major event just happened, who were the key players, what don't we know as it ended and we're exploring now.   There's always going to be something new and obscure to decode but If you just wanted to say --  I just started this game, I got into the storyline.  I know anomaly link to the story.. what was this Persopolis thing anyway?    There's sometimes so many pieces of the puzzle to explore that it's hard to sometimes see that the full jigsaw is already 1/2 complete.

  3. Dan Bailey That's a nice idea. Mustafa Said already is doing that sort of summary write-up for the monthly Essex News missions that first went live beginning of June. Each summarizes the major events of the prior month.

  4. I would prefer Essex to be a place to research and share opinions on canon with released information. This is where discussion of leaked documents, sharded memories, special things seen in the ingress report, important comments from any of the certified characters, excerpts from books, comics books, and so forth. It's not like we're short on storyline that we need to make up our own. There are other communities that celebrate off topic theories and fanfics and my personal wish for the community would be to keep the two separate.

  5. The First & Foremost Not going well for those who wish to derail the investigation, or the rest of us?

  6. The First & Foremost almost every community has many many more readers than posters.

  8. As an Essex representative, I greatly appreciated both being a part of this community and being able to promote this community at Mission Day SDCC. I would love to see more events like that where knowledge of the investigation can lead to rewards rather than just how many resonators or bursters you can deploy.

  9. I was in the hangout, but back in the 100-person limit days I gave up my spot for someone else to participate.  I found it hard to keep up to the hangout on a daily basis.  I would have to digest and thought-process the info everyone was talking about since my last visit, then find out I just spent 30-45 minutes doing so.  I don't have a lot of free time in my day just to play catch-up in a hangout so I can stay on point with what people are currently talking about in there.

  10. I think those of us in the hangout need to be more intentional in posting to the community major discussions or concepts that arise in the hangout. That lets folks digest them more and open them to a wider audience for further discussion. JoJo Stratton 's post yesterday regarding sharded individuals is a good example of this being done.
