Who is really Verity Seke / X ? And what is her purpose?
Who is really Verity Seke / X ? And what is her purpose?
Since the revelation that Verity Seke is inside ADA , I began to wonder about her behaviour and most importantly, her motivation.
First, everyone on this investigation seem to have a purpose, a motivation to act as they do, Verity Seke motives have been always a mystery to me, to say that you seek the truth is really vague, because it does not answer the real question that is, Why?
We know that H. Richard Loeb is not a programmer, while working for the NSA computing center, he did only programmed an extensive program on the weird night where he inserted so many machine code lines, by the weirdness of it, he was most probably ingressed by a foreign entity, most probably the n’zeer.
We also know this program was acceded once while H. Richard Loeb was tuning ADA, and downloaded a lot of information into ADA’s matrix.
We also know that H. Richard Loeb was recruiter because he tuned/ wrote a program called True-seeker, that almost all of us, agreed that is Verity Seke
I think that the most easier explanation for this is that truthseeker is what Richard programmed that night, due to it’s complexity and the fact that is inside of ADA.
Of course, there is something that does not match on that explanation, as Richard was hired due to his true-seeker building and true-seeker was acceded once for what we know.
Reason I believe this to be truth even when it does not match what I have put above, are completely circumstantial, so please, feel free to tear them apart.
We suspect that A Detection Algorithm has n’zeer influence from the beginning and many thing she has done are due to this influence.
We know that in the A Detection Algorithm was supposed to ingress Devra Bogdanovich but that due to her infatuation with H. Richard Loeb and how upset he was about Klue S. faction change, she ingressed Klue S. instead.
This could have a lot more importance that we have been attributing to, as Devra and Klue seem to have completely different characters, Devra is more analytical and Klue more instinctive
During the video, where Klue and ADA discuss about using MU to exploit their own evolution, Klue or Klada says that they could use Hank Johnson to recreate this effect, ADA is unable to follow that conclusion, that could be due to Klue ability to reach correct conclusion without all the data available.
Could Klue acted like a shield for the n’zeer influence on ADA?
Could Klue be a black box*?*
Most of the information that we have about their relation comes from X and it paints it as really sick one, on the first stages Klue does not seem to be present on her body at all and seem to re-emerge along the course of the next year.
I consider this interesting, because the more that Klue personality seem to re-emerge, the more information there is leaked it, and most of this information seem to show again not a good relation.
So it’s X releasing this information and only this information to break this relation as it’s humanizing ADA too much for the n’zeer to be able to continue using ADA?
There is also two mission that show almost the same information, but it varies slightly on what it says, one of them has been released by a blue player called Investigator X, the other by flint dille who can’t say where he obtained said information.
Does this point that information could have been modified before being released on the past?
Finally on the last document, ADA goes to Richard for help as she believes that she is going to be killed, while we don’t know who want to kill her, we know that ADA thinks that Richard could help, so I assume that it involve Verity somehow, one of the words that could match is Antimagnus, so if my suspicion are correct:
Could this murder be replacing ADA by Verity that since she has not been tainted by Klue is still a fully rational AI that could still fit the n’zeer needs?
**I refer to the Asimovian version of the black box, where an individual possesses an almost unerring instinct for intuiting the right choice from limited information, examples of humans with this ability are Elijah Baley and Golan Trevize.

Verity is designed to be a data sump, the information is collected until a certain set of circumstances, either environmental or programmed until the data is pumped out. Basically Verity is a blind copy function.

ReplyDeletePersonally I believe that whatever H. Richard Loeb programmed that night at the NSA was a predecessor to Truthseeker, but not Truthseeker itself. A data gathering algorithm that is able to hide itself inside a bigger system and spread itself with each program that derives from the original one.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to HRL that night (or just before it)? My guess is that he might have been target of an XM or CM dosing, similar to what Nigel Moyer did to his own family, but stringer. If we look at what happened to e.g. Carrie Campbell and enoch dalby at Epiphany Night, something similar might have happened to HRL. Something that unlocked his programming ability and turned him into a programming overdrive while the XM/CM dose lasted. When the effect wore off, he probably collapsed somewhere due to the massive strain that had on his body and especially his brain. Which might also be the reason why he cannot remember the incident. His brain decided to erase the memory of it in order for him to stay sane.
Truthseeker might have been an idea that was in his head before the NSA incident, so during his "programming trance" he wrote something that went into that direction. After that, with his programming abilities now unlocked, he was - at a slower pace of course - able to evolve the original program into what became known as Truthseeker. A program that not only gathers information, but also has an algorithm to filter out important data from unimportant.
The main difference between the NSA program and Truthseeker is that the latter was widely known (see Bowles suggesting HRL to Calvin as a tuner for ADA), while knowledge about the first became known only recently.
When HRL joined the Niantic team, his Truthseeker program was added to the Omnivore core (there might be other additions, possibly initiated by Calvin and provided by Nigel Moyer, to assure N'zeer influence on ADA) to add its abilities. HRL modified the Truthseeker code to work on two levels:
a) to support/inclrease ADA's abilities, as requested by Niantic
b) to provide himself with data from inside ADA, to learn the truth and support his Niantic project
Basically, the b part is what we know as Verity Seke. When HRL went off the grid before 13Magnus, he instructed the VS code to release information which were deemed important by its algorithm to the public.
Question No. 1 that remains for me is HRL's motivation to do all this. Why is he interested to make the public aware of the truth of what happened at Niantic? Is he 13Magnus, AntiMagnus or NoMagnus?
Personally, I'm not sure there is a motivation for VS to do what she does. For her to have a motivation would also require her to have a personality of her own. She might just be a program that is doing its job, not an AI of her own.
Which brings up question No. 2 for me: in how far can HRL still influence the VS algorithm? Obviously, he was able to switch it from "deliver information to me" to "publish information on the internet". Can he also still modify/influence the basic algorithm which decides what should be released? Did he modify the algorithm because he was angry at ADA for taking Klue away from him?
Slightly related is Q3: how would you kill a distributed AI like ADA? I don't think it is possible from the outside. But there might be a sort of "kill switch" built into her. Maybe a precaution from Calvin in case ADA went rogue or simply was not needed anymore.
So VS might not necessarily be the tool to destroy ADA, but actually the tool to block the kill switch?
