A matter that weighed heavily on me last night is the rapidly approaching fate of Dr. Devra Bogdanovich. As Yik Sheng Lee brought up earlier, it looks extremely likely that the Dr. Bogdanovich who emerges following the XM Anomalies this weekend will an agent of the N'zeer - possibly something far worse.
However, is this sort of ingression - to fundamentally shape who or what a being is - permanent? We have witness a limited number of cases - ben jackland, 855, and Klue S., for example. What of cases where that "shaping" has been undone? Klue S. is currently... less integrated? 855 is reportedly no longer under A Detection Algorithm's control, but is still significantly different than what he once was.
If Devra is to become a puppet of the N'zeer, is there anything that can be done to cut their strings? ...and if so, will she remember how to move without them, or must we depend on a new Blue Fairy to make her a real girl once again?

I'm not sure at this point how we could reverse this since agents are influencing her in a different level than how even Klue was influenced. She's being changed though the capture and control of her soul, for lack of a better phrase.

Agreed. There are some events that you simply cannot prevent. Now is just a question of how to deal with the cards once they're dealt.

ReplyDeleteRobert Clemo I believe that her inoculated body, after coming into contact with the XM blast in Afghanistan, was.....for lack of a better phrase, destroyed. Her Shards are all that exist of her.
ReplyDeleteSo, what's to say that XM wouldn't have a similar effect on a Dark XM construct (which has pretty much been our conclusion)? Yeah...
