Title
In a cave. I can see nothing, save the motes of Dust floating in my own eyes. I can; however; hear a deep cthonic rumble, and the occasional dripping of water in some forgotten grotto. Such peace as cannot be found in the world above. I think, here, now, I have found my nest. I will sleep now, even as I awaken from a fitful slumber. For is not dreaming but a world itself, filled to the brim with wondrous wishes made real? The bounty of this wondrous substance in this place. Other men dream of using this to carry out great campaigns of destruction, avarice, and indoctrination. These men do not realize the true nature of this substance. They cannot; for they have not yet transcended the boundaries of human existence. Those willing to live their own dreams; those capable of transforming thought into reality; these are the men who can successfully use this substance to bring about a new dawn!

ReplyDeleteThe philosopher stone was never meant to be used for gaining material wealth and turning metalic lead into gold, but transmuting the unrefined spirit into a thing incorruptible. The analogy is that gold does not oxidize and tarnish but maintains its luster through millenia. That is the goal of the alchemists: spirutual purification and eternal incorruptibility.
