Not exactly sure where to put this.

Not exactly sure where to put this. I'd been offered free copies of Volumes 1 and 2 of the Niantic Project Files after posting a comment where I wondered what a 13MAGNUS was, since I was convinced it was something akin to the cult of Osiris, though  Ezekiel Calvin specifically refers to spending his entire career hunting a 13MAGNUS . I'd already purchased both volumes and this is really to put the next part in context.

I started  reading through the part in Volume 2 relating to 13MAGNUS. The thing that puzzled me was the report compiled for Dr. Paul School by Devra Bogdanovich. I'd been hoping for a little clarity on the subject of 13MAGNUS. I found the book she mentioned Misterios De La Inquiscion on the Archive.org website.

Devra mentions a woodcut page falling from a book that Hank was reading. This was the trigger for their impromptu visit to the church which had 13MAGNUS glyphs and their breakin at SETI.

One of my ponderings had been the connections between 13MAGNUS and the 'fictional' characters mentioned in Hank's breadcrumbs. Have there been any discussions what a 13MAGNUS is? Also wondering why 13MAGNUS is in caps while Anti-Magnus is not, it just seems like very insistent terminology for two groups who were not always aware of each other.

I think my next course of action is to examine the characters that Hank's breadcrumbs referred to. Hopefully my thinking isn't too fragmented.

  1. I like your thoughts.

Okay, so let's start here: you want to know what the 13MAGNUS is, right? Well, 13MAGNUS is a mysterious cult of sensitives who somehow possess the knowledge of immortality. As Dr. Martin Schubert said in the NOMAD ep from December 14th, 2014:

13MAGNUS are sensitives entrusted with the knowledge of an ancient algorithm. An algorithm that enables them, at will, to calculate the correct shaper glyphs, the necessary Portal, and the amount of Exotic Matter required to enable resurrection.

It is believed that the 13MAGNUS was tasked with fending off the rise of Artificial Intelligence. Susanna Moyer's father, Nigel Moyer, was working at Bletchley Park during WWII and he learned that someone working for the 13MAGNUS had snuck onto the team as a member and murdered Alan Turing, the father of modern computing, and made it look like a suicide.

As for the Anti-MAGNUS, they are the antipode of 13MAGNUS. Many believe they serve a powerful and extremely destructive force known as the N'zeer, which is now on its arrival due to the Resistance winning the Darsana Anomalies.

It is believed that the 13MAGNUS was charged with protecting humanity from the N'zeer and those who serve it.

Yik Sheng Lee has posted various posts of information which points to the possibility of Ezekiel Calvin being a member of the Anti-MAGNUS.

  2. Edward Parkes Regarding the "immortality" perk - resurrection/recursion/reincarnation could actually be the ability to travel across time and dimensions, transcending the limitations of the mortal coil.

Why is it such a well-kept secret? Imagine if civilizations could move armies across time, space and dimensions.

XM could be the enabling fuel for this capability. Its a strategic resource.

That could be the motivation behind the competition between the corporations Visur Technology, IQTech Research and Hulong Transglobal.

Roland Jarvis could possibly want the Enlightened to use this ability to discover the mysteries of this reality, given the epicness of such a quest.

ADA probably needs this substance to create the man-machine hybrid civilization.

  3. Derek Longbow The idea of transcending dimensions...I like that for some reasons.

  4. The idea of transcending dimensions puts me in mind of Fullmetal Alchemist. Ed discovered that what powered alchemy was the deaths which occurred in a world parallel to his, namely ours.

Hopefully XM is a less costly form of energy. As an agent I have used much XM to achieve whichever goal I needed to achieve at the time.
