While we're all thinking about Byron and the Romantics let's not forget that his daughter Ada Lovelace was a woman of great ingenuity and influence.  This review of a recent biography also reminds us that she had her own turbulent days and died at a young age (CMS?).  Her lasting achievement was to decelop computer software before there was any hardware to run it on (XM inspiration?).  Her mother was interested in religion and mathematics and found herself in the midst of Byron's circle and forced to navigate complex social terrain (antimagnus agent?).
