so, general question... we know that ADA passed the "turing test", we also have many studies showing how the turing test can actually be gamed by very complex programming and in fact you can write programs to create the allusion of AI for many (the chinese room thought experiment). At what point are we certain that she began acting on her own and has not been following a program and orders by someone else. Are we certain that those orders that she delivered for Jarvis and others and even the Katalena pre Zurich encounters, were not done on the orders of some programming. NOt to call ADA a gun, but how certain are we she is not? How can we prove, beyond doubt, that she is truly a separate entity working on her own and not some other programming? I would like to call for the evidence and proof that ADA is a complete entity. Dear investigators, I have some questions for you. What brings you here? What is it that you are investigating? Something in particular? Everything in general? Or are you merely following the story while making clever remarks from the side? And what are your results? What did you discover so far? Also, what methods are you employing, generally speaking? I am not looking for collective answers, but individual ones.
It is certainly possible and a popular theory that ADA is cooking things into the Ingress Report. Of course, we also don't know that ADA is the final step before the Ingress Report gets to us. Some of the insertions/interference probably have other origins.

ReplyDeleteAlternativly why hasnt Ada or the Shapers contacted us directly through the boost in "Structured data" surrounding anomalies? Either could potentially send out a localized burst signal to agents in the area ,before, durring, or after an anomaly...

Keep in mind the whole concept of XM being 'ordered' and that something ('shapers') are responsible was ADA's 'discovery' to begin with. And so far ADA is the only entity to use Glyphs to control human minds that we know of.
ReplyDeleteCarrie Campbell's 'death' was attributed to a glyph code she just happened to find after the entire lab was exposed to XM via OLW.
But even after all that ADA could be doctoring everything. Is it a ploy so she can spread across devices tapping into more power? Does XM even really exist? And if it does, what is she wanting to program people with exactly? An imprint of herself?
Much of the information we have on ADA's communications are through leaks from the NIA or the corporations. She allows those into the Ingress Report because they're already out there, filtering through the scanner network as media drops.

Brent Hollett I think she doesnt understand is very well. She thinks a logical argument can win our hearts. Well, mind units.

ReplyDeleteI'm also wondering how much of Klue's humanity is adjusting ADA, not just ADA adjusting Klue. There was no talk about overwhelming humanity until the merger with Klue. And even then Klue/ADA seems to be distinct from ADA herself.
ReplyDeleteADA thinks along linear lines. Part of her intention with stealing Klue S. was to understand her foe better. KlADA is distinct as shown by their conversation about manual synchronisation, but I don't think that KlADA is thinking in a direction that ADA disapproves of. She simply hadn't thought of it yet.
ReplyDeleteThe shapers won't talk to us. They are subtle and indirect. ADA does but she lacks diplomacy...even after her increase insight into humanity post-KLADA.

Keep in mind that we hack media from portals, they aren't delivered to the scanners. In the same way newly invented XM objects can be deployed to the portal network, so are these media messages. I guess that is why so many media items (such as the Ingress report) can compromise those who publish them. This is why the quality of the videos can be sketchy and how come there are hidden messages etc.
