KlADA as a necessary sacrifice to humanize AI?
Found the Hawking interview.

Quote: There is a real danger that computers will develop intelligence and take over. We urgently need to develop direct connections to the brain so that computers can add to human intelligence rather than be in opposition.

  1. Unfortunately, KlADA does not seem to be an augmentation of human wetware, just a patched version of the OS. It's like installing Linux on your Windows computer: it's more efficient in some ways, more clunky in others, and make no difference to hardware limits such as disk space, memory, or processor speed. If optimized, though, it could use your limited hardware somewhat more efficiently for a particular set of tasks.

  2. Actually, if ADA had approached this from a cybernetics perspective, I would be all for it. A mini-board with a minimal instance of ADA installed on it, directly interfacing with the human brain, augmenting but not replacing the default OS... Maybe build in a 4G or universal Wi-Fi chip, some Bluetooth, additional sensors to expand our perception...

I'm all on favor of making humans cybernetic, but ADA seems fixated on making itself more human, "upgrading" the wetware with XM but not with physical tech.

  3. From a humanocentric perspective, would ADA be a cybernetic parasite rather than a Shaper parasite?

  4. I don't think shapers have been shown to be "parasites", but yes to ADA being a parasite from original Klue's perspective.

  5. "Shaper parasite" is ADA's terminology, if I recall, though it's also said "Enlightened parasite" at least once. But yes, that's definitely the pot calling the kettle black.
