Quick questions.
Quick questions..... The Knife that Azmati used to stab Hank... What is the significance of shape and make. Lastly, did his eyes turn black, and what do we think was the reason. Azmati said, "I'm sorry...", Could he have found a way to poison an XM entity? I'm trying to figure this out.

There's plenty of good reading there, but Stein Lightman saw fit to repost this passage in particular:
"The kīla, particularly those that are wooden are for shamanic healing, harmonizing and energy work and often have two nāgas[11] (Sanskrit for snake, serpent and/or dragon, also refers to a class of supernatural entities or deities) entwined on the blade, reminiscent of the Staff of Asclepius and the Caduceus of Hermes."
In other ritual use it's generally a tool of grounding and clarity, stripping illusions and figuratively pinning Space to the Earth.
I don't think that Hank's eyes turned black, I'm of the opinion that it was a side effect of angle and lighting.
From what Melissa L. and Michelle E reported, it sounds like Hank was at the after-party behaving as if the encounter with Azmati had occurred before, so I assume that he recovered relatively quickly from the wound, and Azmati was just saying "sorry to be the one to tell you, but you're not what you thought you were."

ReplyDeleteMy recollection is that Hank's new form is made up of Dark XM.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps his form is composed of Ordered XM and the kila channels Dark XM. Or its an ordinary ritual blade that was just used to demonstrate Hank's obviously non-human reaction to injury.
ReplyDeleteA good open ended question (perhaps, Edgar Allan Wright , one that could go on the next round of Essex questions), but I'm inclined to say no. As far as I'm concerned, Hank, Jarvis, Farlowe, they are all still human minds, but manifested in a new type of body. Shapers themselves do not seem to manifest in our physical world, or at least there's no evidence of it that I'm aware of.
