I would very much like to know what Essexians make of this.

I would very much like to know what Essexians make of this.  If you have contacts in relevant geographic locations relating to the principles of this story, please send current photographs and scanner screens.  It would also be of great interest to know what Stein Lightman and +Martin Schubert would have to say about this.

  1. as a side note on Ben Franklin - this is an interesting read - http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/20091300?uid=2134&uid=377720411&uid=2&uid=70&uid=3&uid=60&uid=377720401&sid=21103224156541  (you can register on the site for free and read it)

Whitefield is a very interesting person as well and the connections between the two can parallel many of the other stories we have seen in Niantic (such as REH and HPL)

  2. And just for kicks ;)  Edgar Allan Wright here is one of the letters - now some may interpret this as Whitefield asking Ben to be "born again" - but what if it was a way of asking Ben to look into the very thing 13Magnus and XM may provide - electricity (XM) to New Birth (13Magnus cycle)

    ---letter

    London, August 17, 1752

    Dear Mr. Franklin,

I find that you grow more and more famous in the learned world. As you have made a pretty considerable progress in the mysteries of electricity, I would now humbly recommend to your diligent unprejudiced pursuit and study the mystery of the new birth. It is a most important, interesting study, and when mastered, will richly repay you for all your pains. One, at whose bar we are shortly to appear, hath solemnly declared, that, without it “we cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.” You will excuse this freedom. I must have aliquid Christi [something of Christ] in all my letters.

I am yet a willing pilgrim for His great name’s sake, and I trust a blessing attends my poor feeble labours. To the giver of every good gift be all the glory! My respects await yourself and all enquiring friends; and hoping to see you once more in the land of the living, I subscribe myself, dear sir, your very affectionate friend, and obliged servant,

         George Whitefield

  3. My few tidbits which I've shared in the Essex Hangout:

Franklin's date of birth is January 17.

The Resistance logo appears to have a key in it.

There is something I've always interpreted to be a shield behind the key.  Could be a kite.

Franklin Square in Philadelphia has a great sculpture of a lightning bolt with a kite at the top and a key at the bottom.

I think we're due for an anomaly, one starting around Franklin's birthday, connecting the eastern US (13 colonies) with western Europe (where colonists came from) that continues through Washington's Birthday (February 22) doesn't seem that far fetched and there's history in it.

  4. and to add - Dr. Wright stopped by and made these comments

    Edgar Allan Wright
Fascinating about the Hellfire Club, isn't it?

    Nikolas Moore
    indeed

I have a suspicion that the period of the Hellfire Club produced, uniquely, multiple 13MAGNUS groups. At least one in London and one in the Colonies.

And unless I am wrong, anti-Magnus appeared in France.
Mr. Franklin might have been a member of both.

    Anthony Castanza
Interesting considering it was French naval aid that turned the tide of the Revolutionary war.

    Edgar Allan Wright
    Ah but to what effect.

  5. One last item for you Edgar Allan Wright  - I found this quote in my research - coupled with the comment from Whitefield... well... perhaps another 13magnus link

"Deists hold a variety of beliefs about the soul. Some, such as Lord Herbert of Cherbury and William Wollaston, held that souls exist, survive death, and in the afterlife are rewarded or punished by God for their behavior in life. Some, such as Benjamin Franklin, believed in reincarnation or resurrection."

  6. I'm of the belief that the Alignment could have included both Magnus and Anti-Magnus members in their bid to seize power.
