Do you know "The Song of Roland"?

You might want to....
You see, it's a story about a war leader under Charlemagne (Karolus Magnus)

And what of Oliver? In the tradition, he was Roland's closest friend, adviser, and confidant, one of Charlemagne's(Karolus Magnus) twelve peers and brother of Aude/Alda/Alde/(Ada?) Roland's fiance.  Some critics have linked his name to the olive tree, a biblical symbol of divine wisdom.......Oliver? Divine Wisdom?

"The Lovely Alda" is part of Edward MacDowell's 1891 orchestral composition, Two Fragments after the Song of Roland.

So Magnus and his 12 peers for a total of 13?

The English expression, "to give a Roland for an Oliver", meaning either to offer a quid pro quo or to give as good as one gets

So let me try and understand this. This Aude/Alda/Alde/(Ada?) Character was engaged to Roland, and Roland's best friend was Oliver?

Would you give a Roland for a Jarvis?

  1. Roland's sword was said to be unbreakable. Some have pointed out that when rendered upside down, the Enlightened faction logo resembles a sword.

  2. There is a portal in my hometown, the "Wayland Smith Estate Garden" - in the description it mentions Wayland The Smith and his forging of Excalibur and Durendal.
