The trailer for this movie was posted by someone, and then reshared by Brian Rose.  The movie describes an "alternate reality game" that was played out over a few years in San Francisco.  The parallels between this and Ingress jump out like crazy at me.  Brian Rose also commented about this by linking to the recent Jarvis Manifesto compiled by Magnus Aligned.  The most interesting part about this is the last sentence. The last thing the director says is, "We'll find out more in three months."  From the date of the article, that puts it right around the time of the final Anomaly in San Francisco on December 14th.  I want to watch this movie, and see how this plays out.

  1. Also, Ingress commented "What a curious coincidence"

  2. Drew Dondero I watched the trailer and the Ingress parallels are clear.  I wouldn't be surprised if John Hanke used it as a conceptual base for Ingress.  He was working for Google proper in San Fran at the time this game was going on.

Also, whenever Ingress posts on something like this, it might point to deeper connections or it's just them saying yeah, that's where we got the idea for this.

Though, as the trailer states that their game got scarier the further they went, I think out got lighter as it went.  The beginning months of Ingress appeared to be very real, since we had almost zero background on the story.  Now, you can see through some of the story elements.

  3. Thanks for posting this Drew Dondero, a comment on the article may have just lead me to the 'trailhead' of the next iteration to this "Alternate Reality Game". This confirms that http://thelatitude.com/ is connected to 'The Latitude Society' logo I saw after the end credits.
