So since the start there has been 2 simple rules in terms of accepting members into Essex

rule 1 - they must do the weekly test
rule 2 - It must be player accounts and not group of players
Example we got Daniel Casper  in here but not AgentsForADA (by now daniel hates us because we keep using him as an example)

While rule 1 was created by our founder Edgar Allan Wright , rule 2 was made by the players at the time. Since then Essex has grown quite alot
The question is anyone disagrees with rule 2 ? If so why ? I would say if after a week we don't hear any strong reason against it it becomes a permanent rule for the future

  1. I do not disagree with rule 2. I think it's a good one in light of rule 1.

  2. To whom are the answers to the tests submitted?

  3. I personally do not see a problem with bringing a group account, i.e. Agents for ADA in.  If as a group, they continue to exhibit meaningful contributions to our research, we only have knowledge to gain and nothing to lose because of it.  Then again, to evaluate a group using the same methods as evaluating individuals does not seem fair.  So perhaps unless some other type of concrete evaluation for groups was formed, the better judgement of the moderators would have to be the ultimate deciding factor of which groups are permitted -  we decide to go that route.

  4. By a role playing standpoint, i disagree with rule 2. A individuals belief system could vary do to the role being played vs the actual agent.

That said; this is a non faction group. Therefore part one does not apply. Why have two tick marks for essentially the same contribution. Its just static in the numbers. Although the static does not impact us negatively, it also has no benefit to except falsifying our numbers to make us look bigger then we are.

  5. If much of the content here is intended for individuals' intelligent discussion, not for the masses, as is implied by the test that you actually have to think and know your Ingress history to pass, allowing group accounts to join would be just one step away from making this a public community. If the leader (or any individual member) of a group wants to join, they still can, using their individual account.

  6. Indeed. They can pass things along.

  7. Would it be possible then for our moderators
Jose Ramirez , Kelly Kolton , Kira Kroger  Linda Besh  and above all our founder Edgar Allan Wright  to give a final decision on this and make it clear on the community description , so new potencial members are aware of it ?
Another thing that should be clear is to whom they should submit their answers as right now we only have a bunch of questions but no instructions on what to do afterwards
