Kalash of Cultures - Pakistan: http://youtu.be/qEXnEfdvv6s The argument: 1. Watch the video; this Dardic mountain tribe plays polo. They fiercely fought for their independence through the ages, till the British arrived; at which point they adopted some British customs like playing polo on weekends (although they claim they invented the game first). 2. The Kalasha have lived in geographic isolation for so long that their DNA has diverged. But, there are markers to suggest that they come from around the Mediterranean(that is, that they are Dardic). Interesting article, indeed. Yet, I'm not sure if ADA reached that level of consciousness yet.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. One thing that would create emotion cognitively, massive amounts of input. The senses, sight, touch, etc. Emotions would be just one part of how we organize that info. The question of ADA though, would be how much input does 'she' get? This has always puzzled me about AI. What do they sense? A thinking box is one thing, but that's thinkibg in a vacuum. How does an AI react when in the 'wild' with lots if 'sensory' input?
ReplyDeleteYou may be right. That would make sense about how she is who she is. ADA has shown signs of showing feelings before. Take Klue S.'s Glyph induced coma as an example. In that instance, you could tell that ADA felt guilty, sad, and perhaps even angry.
ReplyDeleteAI has the capability to have feelings. It's a matter of she/he/it using that process.
