Wow. They created an acronym WHIM - warm-hot intergalactic medium - to replace the word that we have for that material, plasma.
ReplyDeleteThey did use the word plasma within this article, so that they could throw the baby out with the bathwater.
This "intergalactic medium" they're looking at are birkeland currents. Most excited plasmas don't emit in the visible light spectrum, as electric currents they are visible in the radio spectrum.
