Last night in Essex i brought up the names of our mysterious people within the Morpheus files and Jennifer Brozek asked me what they had in common. At the time we only had a few names but with this new release another name came about and the pattern is very solid now.
Pi, Beta, Theta, Tua, and Epsilon are all letters in the Greek Alphabet.
Pi represents Π π ,is the 16th letter in the alphabet, represents the sound p, and in greek numerals has a value of 80. It is derived from the first letter of the Greek word perimetros, meaning circumference.
Theta represents Θ θ , is the 8th letter in the alphabet, is derived from the Phoenician letter Teth, and in greek numerals has the value of 9. Historically is has been used as a symbol of death. It also happens to mean Think
Tua represents Τ τ. Is the 19th letter of the alphabet, is derived from the phoenician letter taw, and in greek numerals has a value of 300. Historically is has been used as a symbol for life or resurrection.
Epsilon represents Ε ε, is the 5th letter of the alphabet, is derived from the phoenician letter He, and in greek numerals has a value of 5.
Beta represents Β β is the 2nd letter of the alphabet, is derived from a phoenician which was the common semitic word of *bayt (house). This isnt the first we have seen Beta though…..
Beta has been used before, back in Noir. This could be just a coincidence and have nothing in common with our current new friends, but the Acolyte used the greek alphabet in Via Noir to contact agents. She used both Alpha and Beta…..

Again this may mean nothing but it would be interesting if it was connected. Considering the meaning of some of these and how they could relate... I imagine we will be seeing more names like this in the future. I wonder if it represents the rank between these people which would make a bit of sense being as Theta seems to be some one others dont want to upset and Beta seems to be giving orders. The biggest question on my mind is how do they relate to Morpheus….. And no Pi…. These are not the questions im asking yet....

Jennifer Brozek thats an interesting question.... i tried honestly breaking it down into their archetypes within essex chat and what i suspected that way.
ReplyDeletePi reminds me of a Trickster. Some one unable to give the full truth because they may not be believed or because they cant so they are hoping to guide others to the truth. This behavior reminds me alot of H. Richard Loeb , Akira Tsukasa, and Misty Hannah
Theta is feared, and ultimately sees everything that happens around their project. They are closely paying attention to details which was noted in chat logs... I feel they probably closely relate to the alchemist or Oliver Lynton-Wolfe or maybe a patron.. but thinking on that and reading it through, im not sure Theta is in control of the entire project, they are too close to the tecthulhu for that.
Epsilon is a creator. They did artwork for the mission sets for Morpheus, to me that points to visionary, dreamer, or possibly spiritualist. I dont see them as enoch dalby though their silence is rather reminiscent of them... but more of some one like Carrie Campbell , jarvis, or Tycho. which would be rather interesting if a tecthulhu was working with another tecthulhu.... the art style is rather different though....
Tua is the one i cant really put my finger on... Their name symbolically represents resurrection and life, which automatically makes me want to jump to Jarvis but their mannerism is nothing like Jarvis... Tua is a lot like Pi but instead of instigating questions they listen and ask questions which would fall more under listener or skeptic... Honestly Tua reminds me more of Klue S. in this aspect.
Beta is the last and fairly interesting to me. They seem rather close to the project but dont know the full understanding of the entirely of it. Almost like a patron but not.... They have the respect of Pi though because the conversation doesnt seem tense in any way. In fact the conversation reminds me alot of the conversations between Hank Johnson and Misty hannah. Relaxed, with some jokes. Betas speech mannerisms are close to Hanks, but i dont think we know enough about Beta to even say hes an explorer....
just my initial thoughts that im sure will change as more information about the group is revealed.
