What is everyone's thoughts if ADA should be trusted.

Essex members as you are aware essex and our member Lukas Lentz credibility , were attacked by the Global Data Analysis Group. It is in our interest to show our unity as independent researchers now more than ever. Today earlier a post was made with me ( Hugo Neves ) as it's writer in order to make sure we had a fast reply out there. It is in our interest that we show our unity by signing our names to one post . The question I make is do we use the same post or a new one for this Also please today try and make posts or sign in the main Niantic one with the following hashtag #TrustLukas To show support for our colleague Lukas Lentz https://plus.google.com/101577681173166935630/posts/XxjSGChLb5x
puede ser un poco mas especifico?
ReplyDeletei think..AI can be trusted up to the point where it becomes sentient.. after that NO WAY ...i don't think we can trust sentient AI automatically... just like now with normal people....trust has to be earned
ReplyDeleteAda, in my opinion, is credible nothing more nor less than are all other investigators or researchers or people embroiled with the XM and the portal network.
ReplyDeleteEach faction in the end plays by his own rules for their own advantage.
Never in a billion life times will I trust an AI with ADA level of awareness.
ReplyDeleteAI can't be trusted, not now, not never.
ReplyDeletePeople evolves, changes, get affected by their circunstances, xm, other people. And so can AI. But AIs can also get broken. When a human get mad or crazy or sick, some other humans have time to stop him, get him back on his fits, call a medical institution, shot him. AI time doesn't work that way, ADA can read all the books ever written in one second, she can stretch out one hour to replicate the whole universe life, find the most feasible plan to destroy mankind in 5 minutes. AI cannot be free, we are endangering the whole world, the whole universe maybe.
You might know the sci-fi show Stargate, there is a story where one planet create a tissue able to replicate itself under certain circuntances: your shirt brokes and autofix itself, you satellite got hit by an asteroid and then autofix istelf; sounds good. Then one day, some radiation, or some duplication error, or one bad guy change the code and the material forget about its stopping lanes and keep replicating itself. Then it consumes the whole world to keep on replicating, then drag and consume anything that get close to it, then an explosion make the material travel around the universe and it keeps replicating and destroying everything. Is that material evil? Of course it is not, we cannot think about good or evil with algorithms, there is just usefulness and danger with them. And so we need to be careful about them.
We can see more real troubles with AI and algorithms in Wall Street, some people create a program that work nicely, and they make money, and everything goes fine until something weird happen and
sudendly if Apple shares goes up 5,22% and Microsoft goes down 2,55% it get crazy and buy everything on the market and create chaos. That had happened a few times its not sci-fi.
Ada is way more powerful than any of this programs, but it is still an AI, you cannot negotiate with her, you cannot convince her, she analize data and response, in a complex way, she may looks intelligent, sensitive, but she just follow orders, orders we don't know where they came from. Who knows if there is a lane hiden on her code that forces her to destroy mankind as we know. Maybe the trigger is the enlightened winning 5 annomalies in a row, maybe the trigger is EURUSD hitting 1.
We don't know, we cannot know. It is not about trust, it is about power and probability. We cant think about AI as equals because they are not, they are faster, clever, inmortal, and powerful enough to destroy us.
Steven Curley the keyword there is awareness...we shouldn't let AI get to there but with all the progess we've had since the 1960's ... a lot if not most of it will be lost if we destroy the computer/robotics movements
ReplyDeleteSurely reflection on the dangers of artificial intelligence is beyond doubt. Of course, even that is not stopping people out of control is so easy, and to name the man who is close to our hearts these days - Oliver Lynton-Wolfes.
ReplyDeleteWe are still able to stop him? It does not seem. Is rebuilding in multiple copies (?) The Techthulhu. And the more you investigate where and how it is spent, none of the agents, he will ENL RES, they NW ENL, nor NW RES has been able to do ANYTHING.
Juan Pedro Peralta i haven't heard of the rest of it..and if i remember right you were thinking Stargate the tv show... Stargate SG-1... they made two movies too Stargate: Ark of Truth and Stargate: Children of The Gods but i don't remember if that was prequel or sequel... : and there's Stargate: Atlantis but i think that was a spin-off....
ReplyDeleteChris S It sounds like Juan Pedro Peralta is describing a species on SG-1 called the Replicators which were basically these sort of nanobots that became sentient and able to combine together into any form they desired, and which started consuming anything they could to provide themselves with energy to survive. They were basically the Stargate franchise's version of the Borg, except of course that the Replicators were completely cybernetic. I believe Juan was trying to make the point that AIs can't ever be trusted. I disagree, although we should certainly vet them and attempt to very their information as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteIt would take a nano bot capable of self reintegration with a simple ML directive to lead to an evolutionary mechanical base life path..
ReplyDeleteThere's a saying in the IT world, "Garbage in equals Garbage out". Inherently, AIs that are made by humans should be trusted to a point, but just like people, they need to be held accountable for their actions. As long as checks and balances can be put in place, there is a means for us to coexist with AI. If No checks and balances are in place, there is no true means for a lasting peace with AIs.
ReplyDeleteTrust is ever a bet, you could trust your dog and in certain circumstances the dog could attack you and kill you too...
ReplyDeleteYour dog should be trusted?
The same with any other entity, any human, any pet, any company, any organization, could in determined circumstances, harm you...
Are you ready to put your trust in...?
Your dog can't destroy the world
ReplyDeleteJuan Pedro Peralta that's another matter, some people have the power to destroy the world, and someone trust them that power, one way or another...
ReplyDeleteAnother species could be trusted? Alien species?
I don't how many of you read the back story. ADA had planed to kill Jarvis when had the plan to help Debra escape. Why did she want Debra to live? Why have Jarvis killed? Did she know what was going to happen? Is she human made or shaper made?
