The implications of detailed scoring
I've not seen anyone comment on the choice of "vital" versus "infected" portals. It's an interesting shift, since positive higher-scoring portals had previously been called volatile. The term "infected" is suggestive of another portal virus at work, which may be the result of actions by New Wave Resistance, possibly leveraging technology liberated from Visur. Recall that Devra Bogdanovich had worked on more than one iteration of a portal network virus; perhaps a more precise portal virus has been developed. This may have been part of a covert effort by NWR to ensure control over a reactivated ADA.

ReplyDelete#supposedtowin - I knew they wouldn't let us have a hat trick even though we are dominating many places.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it was planned- the end score was pretty close really. Enl seems to be really dominating the North Americas lately.
ReplyDeleteI can agree there. Sure things might tip with European leaning blue, but there's usually just about 10% difference one way or another by attendance afaik and it's just down to teamwork and strategy.
ReplyDeleteBoots on ground make a big difference too. Singapore strategy was awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhere did NWR obtain portal virus expertise? They would appear to have weaponized research obtained in part from Visur. Could Japanese XM researchers be involved with NWR?
ReplyDeleteThat would be a frightening implication. I would hope the depth of
ReplyDeleteEnlightened presence in that part of the world would prevent such a
partnership.
It would appear that portals were infected ahead of time. Proof of concept during an anomaly surge to see what would happen? Clearly current scanner technology was not able to detect them.
ReplyDeleteAnother possibility (that isn't exclusive) is a portal virus which is designed to not be easily transmissible.
I really have to wonder about the nature of portal viruses, given that flip cards were also known as alignment viruses.
