Anyone noticed that the Face jewelry from the Acolyte is completely different than in the past? Below a Foto of her jewelry, taken from the newest post from H. Richard Loeb. And one Foto of her from the past Obsidian Event.
The stone on her forehead is red instead of green like in the past. Any suggestions??

A red bindi is the traditional color for a married woman. Not sure if she is taking these concepts from Hinduism or just the fashion though. Could be glyph patterns if throwing anything out there too.
ReplyDeleteDan Bailey so she is probarly maried now? Didn't Hank Johnson said yesterday or so that ancient tatoos, jewelry etc. meaned more than just decoration?
ReplyDelete"Take tribal tattoos and body modification as an example. They didn't engage in that practice purely for aesthetic reasons. They were channeling gods, spirits and a myriad of other invisible powers in the universe. They used it to guide the hunt, to create more powerful warriors or mothers, to enhance themselves against the dangers they faced."
ReplyDeleteIt could also be an artifact/result of the color filter on the first photograph. Changes to the overall colorway of the photograph alters how we perceive what the colors really are.
ReplyDeleteSee this for example

Of course, The Acolyte's liturgical dress is inconsistent according to pre-existing religious rules. The Enlightened are a new religion. We shouldn't expect their traditions to look exactly like anything that came before them.
ReplyDeleteAt best, the Enlightened is a syncretic religion, assimilating traits from nearby 'compatible' religions because it had no history of its own.
At worst, it's a completely fake religion, cynically constructed by aliens using whatever they thought would appeal to the target audience of gullible new age seekers.
If the Enlightened is a genuine movement, it will stabilize and formalize is tractions like any other religion, leading to a predictable (if still derivative) appearance for its leadership.
On the other hand, is the Enlightened movement is an alien scam, is leadership will continue to dress somewhat randomly.
Hell, they're probably just decorating her with random bits of jewelry harvested from their previous victims.
