So Essex agents - here is a little game - have there been any materials (audio, video, documents) released by official Niantic sources that was ONLY released via solving a puzzle or digging deeper into another media - meaning there was never a PAC board released, never a mention on a g+ official account, etc.

Now, I know there have been materials that were found early, but then eventually released through an official source - those do not count.  What I am getting at, are there materials that if a person only read the board and the g+/twitter accounts they would not find....

I know of two (at least I believe they were never released) - but I am curious... has Niantic always, in the end, leaked the story elements...

  1. Personal opinion is that they would not "officially" release it unless someone found it if it was the case.

  2. I think the ADA Manifesto is still in that camp. I'm guessing that's one of the two you referenced.

  3. so no that was not one of my two :)

  4. and I am still trying to 100% verify that even those two were not somehow "leaked" or referenced in an official matter at some point

  5. Sam Gan which ones? and I am not counting anything posted on his official sound cloud because that is an "official" in game source

  6. Brent Werlein I am not sure I am following your statement - do you think there are things that are unfound then?

  7. I do, secrets hidden that will not be brought out unless someone finds them, unless the storyline needs them. Moyer did say we all missed something before she talked about Snow White.

  8. There were some hints dropped and character convo in Thomas Greanias' weekly chats - not an official Niantic g+ zone per se but not what you're looking for I don't think.

  9. Weren't there library books with hidden clues in the beginning?

  10. B. Williams As I recall those were VI deaddrops of storyboard pages, eventually released officially via other means.

  11. All I remember were those couple of Hollis audio diary recordings that were hidden.

  12. Were the dead drips released officially after being found, or did they wait?

  13. Now you've got my curiosity ramped up... (Sorry I missed this, took a long holiday weekend). The VI storyboards in the beginning were assembled into a slideshow and "leaked" on the Investigation Board. Everything I've discovered or had "leaked" to me personally ended up on the investigation board / NP G+ eventually...

  14. well - still looking into this myself and as I review - a few of these did have in the comments agents who posted the results, but... were they ever then "official" leaked - here are a couple I am uncertain about

http://niantic.schlarp.com/investigation:audio:contactaudio  and also associated with that - http://niantic.schlarp.com/investigation:audio:ispirareaudio

and what about some of the hollis audio files...

and what about some of the red tycho images listed at the top of this page... http://niantic.schlarp.com/investigation:images

there are a couple reasons I ask

    1. Are there things we might have missed
    2. many of the ones I listed were from the beginning of the game - has the narrative changed
    3. Are we getting lazy (or adopting certain habits) because why work on anything if it all is eventually released, somewhere....

  15. I'd mentioned to someone a while back the idea of cross-posting all of the releases (documents, posts, whatever) to a single community. There's so much extra stuff in the Niantic Project feed that it can crash my browser trying to go back even a few months. And with all of the other accounts that are also posting stuff now...

Some of the hidden items were included in the website source that I used to generate the single-page listings of releases from the original website:
    http://www.ocdcoder.org/ingress-niantic-releases.html?m=11&y=2012

I see all of the images there, I think, but not the audio files. (Going in and trying to add the missing stuff is my next step before trying to figure out how in the world to start adding the G+ posts from all of the following months...)
